OpenNet Initiative Seeks Research Director

As the OpenNet Initiative moves into overdrive, broadening its already ambitious research agenda and re-doubling outreach efforts, we are seeking a Research Director to drive the project’s diverse activities and coordinate its world-class team. The position is a unique and amazing opportunity, and we have high hopes that the extended Berkman community will help us to identify the perfect candidate.

The OpenNet Initiative is a joint project among the University of Toronto, Cambridge University, Oxford University, and Harvard Law School, researching state-sponsored Internet filtering worldwide. The OpenNet Initiative's reports on internet censorship provide valuable information to human rights organizations, free speech advocates, and policymakers. In the past year, ONI has reported on internet filtering in countries such as China, Burma, Tunisia, and Iran. Recently, the OpenNet Initiative received a generous $3 million grant from The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to advance and expand its research.
