Circumventing Censorship

The BBC reports on yesterday's events at WSIS and ONI's latest report, "Filtering in Tunisia: 2005."  Also check out The Times of London article, "Read all about it. Be quick."  To read more about Nart Villeneuve's presentation at WSIS, please read Ethan Zuckerman's extremely detailed account.

Mary Rundle, Berkman Fellow, also speaks about Internet governance issues in Wired News.

Today Berkman Fellow Ethan Zuckerman, Dmitri Vitaliev of Frontline Defenders, Wojtek Bogusz of the Tactical Technology Collaborative, and Nart Villeneuve of the Open Net Initiative gave a workshop on circumventing censorship. According to Rebecca MacKinnon, "They gave instructions in detail on how non-governmental organizations, human rights groups, and individuals trying to speak the truth under dangerous circumstances can secure their communications and data, and minimize the likelihood that people will get caught or arrested as a result of their work." Please check out Rebecca's post and blog for links to resources on anonymous blogging.
