Reducing INDUCE

The INDUCE Act fizzled for this year, but what about threats of future legislation? This week, Wendy Seltzer, attorney at the EFF and a Berkman Fellow, answered questions for the technology blog Engadget to explain the INDUCE Act, the mission of the EFF, and more. On INDUCE, Seltzer explains, "we’ll likely see this zombie again and again, so it’s important for technologists, technology fans, and everyone else to let their congresspeople know how harmful it would be." Next question: does the EFF's strong ideology compromise its ability to talk to lawmakers? Seltzer says, "We can’t get involved with the money politicking that makes Washington run, but we’ve chosen that path in order to stay focused on the things we do well" -- namely impact litigation.
