Honest Signaling and Other Strategies for Building Reliability and Trust on the Internet October 13, 2004: 1:30 –3:00. 105 Hauser, Harvard Law School.  Trusted exchange and social relationships depend upon honest signaling, an assessment of social and biological risks, as well as  the ability to detect and expel cheaters. This roundtable will explore these topics from an Evolutionary Biology perspective and discuss their applicability to the web environment.  It will also investigate the role of signaling in how virtual, online communities spontaneously form to build trusted social and commercial relationships.
