Blog Parodies

In the aftermath of Democratic National Convention, both Salon.com and The Onion have recently published new pieces which satirize blogs, politics, and the media. The Onion story, CIA Asks Bush To Discontinue Blogs, includes a parody of George's Blog: "Boring Wednesday... Napped for almost two hours. Don't you hate it when you get up from a nap and can't get going again?" And Salon spoofs DNC bloggers: in his blog-parody, Neal Pollack writes, "So what are my thoughts on the convention thus far? Pretty minimal... Hang on. I'm getting an Instant Message from a friend of mine blogging live from the convention floor." Perhaps the parodies are a sign of blogs finally sinking into the mainstream.
