"It's the only fair thing to do," said Kerry Edwards, an Illinois man who has owned the domain name kerryedwards.com for years. Edwards, who originally paid $25 for the site and hoped to pass it to his son, Kerry Edwards Jr. one day, is now looking to sell the site for "five figures" since John Kerry's recent announcement of John Edwards as a running mate. The Kerry campaign balked at Edwards' offer for the site, according to a recent report in the Chicago Sun-Times. Now Mr. Edwards is considering an eBay auction.
