Blogs Give Insight into Iraq

According to a story by the BBC News Online, blogs have become an increasingly popular form of communication in Iraq.  While Salam Pax, "The Baghdad Blogger," gained attention last year for providing insight into daily life in the country, a number of other Iraqi citizens have joined in the blogging movement (for example, see The Model, Nabil's Blog, and the Baghdad Burning Blog).  These sites offer direct windows into how the conflict has changed people's daily lives (see this entry in The Model, for example).  Berkman Center Executive Director John Palfrey explained to the BBC that blogs are ideal "for those who want to read first-hand accounts and hear authentic voices from interesting parts of world."  Read the full report in the BBC News Online.  (Photo of Iraqi sign courtesy of The Model)
