Blogs, The Developing Medium

A story in today's Christian Science Monitor describes subtle changes in the blogging world.  The old perceptions of bloggers as teenage girls keeping online diaries or as Dean diehards preaching to the choir have given way to a more balanced, realistic perspective on the medium.  As the Berkman Center's John Palfrey explains in the story, the simplicity of blogs also makes them a "very powerful technology" for exchanging ideas, adding commentary, and connecting with others.  Berkman Fellow Dave Winer, who is also quoted in the story, will host BloggerCon II at Harvard on Saturday (4/17) to address some of the biggest issues in the blogging world.
