Detentions for Online Activity in China

China blocks 60% of Tibet-related websites, according to a research study last spring by Prof. Jonathan Zittrain and former Berkman Center student fellow, Ben Edelman.  A recent story in the Times of Tibet entitled, Imprisonment on the Rise in China for Internet-Related Activities, places the results of this study in the context of recent crackdown on illegal online activities in China.  According to the story, at least 54 people have been detained for Internet-related crimes in the past year.
