Questioning the Kernel

Darl McBride, CEO of SCO, gave a presentation tonight entitled, "Defending Intellectual Property Rights in a Digtial Age" at an event hosted by Harvard's Journal of Law and Technology.  McBride defended the company's controversial lawsuit against IBM, which challenges the open-source nature of the Linux kernel.  According to McBride, portions of this code are the intellectual property of SCO.  Members of the audience took issue with many of McBride's claims in the question and answer period, particularly SCO's refusal to make public which lines of code were allegedly taken.  Photos and more details about the event will be available in a Briefing soon.
