Colleges Sharing Lessons Online - Some Rights Reserved

A recent article in the Christian Science Monitor discusses the slowly increasing move of college and university instruction material to the Internet. For example, Berklee College of Music offers lessons and tips on various musical topics, and encourages file-sharing among those who are not at the college; the content, at BerkleeShares, is available under a Creative Commons license. Berkman Center Affiliate Derek Slater is quoted in the article: "The key is that this is not an either/or, and Berklee gets that," he said, noting that distribution of knowledge and selective admissions need not be mutually exclusive.
