Stipends, Benefits, and Access to University Resources

Funding

Are you able to engage in a Berkman fellowship without any financial support from the Berkman Center?
If a stipend is necessary to make a fellowship a possibility for you, what size stipend for the course of the academic year would meet your needs?

Harvard ID Needs

Will you bring funding to sponsor a Harvard ID for yourself? ID costs are $220 per month.

As a reminder, a Harvard ID is key into many of Harvard's resources, including access to the Harvard library network (including checkout privileges and access to the University's e-resources), the ability to purchase University health insurance, and the ability to purchase a Harvard gym membership.

I want Berkman to cover my ID costs.

Residency and Space Needs

Do you expect to reside in the greater Boston area for the course of the fellowship?
If not the entire period, what period of the fellowship would you expect to live in the Greater Boston area?
Would you require a shared office space at the Berkman Center, or would you expect to conduct much of your research outside of the office? (Note: we encourage fellows to spend as much time in the office as possible and work to make office-sharing comfortable and productive.)
