Gallagher et. al., 2006 - The paper describes the process of Energy Technology Innovation and the factors that lead to successful innovation, mapping out the current landscape. The authors define the market in terms of the various stages of innovation starting with research development and demonstration (RD&D) and moving to deployment. They define the necessary policies that aid this process as the supply-push policies which fund RD&D and the demand-pull policies which subsidize the deployment stage by providing subsidies or other incentives to lessen the cost of alternative energy adoption.
