Earlier, some on the list excoriated the ACLU for supporting abortion
rights over the free speech rights of a anti abortion rights group who
allegedly encouraged the assasination of abortion providers. ACLA was
sued under racketeering law and the Freedom of Access to Clinic
Entrances Act. As a result, ACLA was found liable for tens of millions
in damages.
The Supreme Court rejected ACLA's appeal.
