ElcomSoft programmer Dmitry Sklyarov received the holiday gift he
could barely allow himself to hope for when a U.S. District Court
Judge today removed him as a defendant in the criminal trial for
alleged violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Sklyarov is free to return to Russia in time for the holidays; his
employer, ElcomSoft Co. Ltd., still faces charges for alleged
circumvention of copyright protection in Adobe's PDF-based eBooks.
