Surely the title The Wealth of Networks alludes to the title of the book Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith. The titles are very similar. Smith describes the principal principles of the industrial society. Benkler describes the principal principles of the networked society with ample contrasts to the industrial societey. So there seems to be a lot of connections. But I find no mentioning of these connections in this wiki, nor in the book.
