Task #17924
Reorganize The Latest
Added by Jessica Weaver 8 months ago. Updated 5 months ago.
100%
Description
Will pull from news and upcoming events (within 2 weeks) organized by date of occurrence with the most recent at the top
-News items will be removed after 1 week
-Remove automatic “promoted to front page” for news and events
-Events will be removed the day after unless they get manually promoted to the front page, which would make previous events appear to accomplish the following:
-The last spot (hero 7) will receive a visual treatment indicating that it features recordings of previous events (with a designed “play” button or something similar – open to your thoughts)

Does that mean that when an event will be manually marked as "Promoted to the front page" it should be placed in the last spot with this extra visual indicator? What if 2 or more events are marked this way?

Hmmm I see what you’re asking, I think. So in my brain, it’s like…if it has the “play button” on it, it doesn’t matter if there are two events that are promoted to the front page this way and they don’t fall according to the rest of the date logic. That visual indication makes it clear that they are past events, not upcoming events. I guess we could label them that way, but we don’t want a whole other scroll of past events.
Does that make sense? Does that give enough clarity, or/and do you think I should get a second opinion *Seth 😊 on that?

What I wanted to ask is: can we have more than one item like this and if so, if we have two for example, they will just be placed in hero 6 and hero 7 and marked with the play icon?

Wow, Peter! This and the event date both look great. I’m going to meet with Seth this afternoon and we will get back to you.
Thanks so much for this. I really like it a lot.
