Is disclosure of the information-gathering processes enough? Can private actors resolve the most pressing issues deriving from holding user-information with privately-run mechanisms? Or, on the other hand, should a push for mandatory due process mechanisms / standards be expected? What about stronger privacy and consumer protection laws?
