Finding a bump or a small dent in the fender is not uncommon and is almost inevitable. Such dents are not only an eyesore, but they also remind the driver of the mishap that caused it and can reduce the value of the vehicle. Therefore, these dents should be repaired as soon as they appear. Repair work must be carried out as professionally as possible so that no unsightly marks remain after removing the dents.

The individual work steps in the workshop depend on the material of the fender and the size and depth of the dent. In addition, the amount of work also depends on the construction of the body. In many vehicles, the fender is welded to other parts of the body. Removing the fender for a repair is then much more time-consuming. In the event of a dent, it may therefore be an advantage if the vehicle manufacturer only screwed the fender on. Then the dented fender can be loosened relatively easily, which makes repairs or replacements easier and keeps costs down.

The first step is to decide whether the damaged fender can be dented at all. Whether it is economically viable to repair the fender or whether it makes more sense to replace it depends on several factors. Dents and bumps can certainly be removed with special techniques and tools. However, in such cases, it may well be that the repair of the damaged area on the fender still requires a lot of time and effort.

In cases of a deep dent, a lot more work is required, which drives up costs. The better option is then a new fender. In the case of screwed-on fenders, a replacement can then be carried out much faster and cheaper.

If the repair is limited to just popping out the fender, the procedure is relatively clear. But that doesn't mean it's easy. Because in addition to the equipment, skill and experience are decisive for success. It is therefore important that you choose the right professional for the job.
