Hello, I'm a researcher at Berkman Center at Harvard Law School researching cooperation and commons-building in the biotechnology industry.
We're starting a new project focused on how intellectual property affects the research and development process of clinical diagnostic kits. What is the general product lifecycle of a diagnostic kit? How are they developed, how do they get to market, and at which stages is there IP activity?
Thanks!

- For background, I'm working under Yochai Benkler & Carolina Rossini at the Berkman Center on the Industrial Cooperation Project (ICP). More info here: http://cyber.law.harvard.edu. I've also already written a short report about the significance of patents on diagnostics: http://has100ideas.com/idea/the-upshot-of-diagnostic-kits.
