Nick is a technologist and entrepreneur working at the intersection of the web and urban, social and civic systems.  He is fascinated by cities and by the Internet, and spends most of his time thinking about how they fit together.

He's Advocate-in-Residence at Union Square Ventures, a visiting scholar at the MIT Media Lab, in the Center for Civic Media, and an affiliate at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at the Harvard Law School.  You can see some of his current work at Connected.io.

Previously, he led an incubator for technology & media businesses at OpenPlans, which created things like: Open311, MTA Bus Time, Civic Works, OpenPlans Transportation, NY Transit Data, OpenTripPlanner, Civic Commons, UncivilServants, TransportationCamp, Streetsblog, Streetfilms and GothamSchools.
