'Hi everyone:
My name is Chris Gondek and I am the producer and host of a podcast called "The Invisible Hand". Professor Benkler is my guest for the 4/22/06 show and we discuss the ideas in "The Wealth of Networks". If you are interested in listening to the show, here is the link: http://www.theinvisiblehandpodcast.com/The_Invisible_Hand_Episode_23.mp3

An interview about Yochai Benkler's new book can be found at Openbusiness.cc

I'm parking this here temporarily, but maybe we should start an 'Audio' or 'Media' page?

Audio from Benkler's talk, "The Wealth of Networks: How Social Production Transforms Markets and Freedom", given at UC Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law on 27 April 2006: http://dream.sims.berkeley.edu/~jhall/Yochai_Benkler_Boalt_27Apr2006.mp3

User:Ownut's beginnings of a summary of this talk:

Social production is sustainable, growing, efficient Mode of Production that is bad for the current model.

Freedom, human agency and autonomy increase when owners allow workers to 'play' with otherwise proprietary resources.

Food and Drug security through Open Source farming.

The complete book has now been made available as a digitally-voiced podcast at:
http://www.babblebooks.com/podcasts/WealthOfNetworks

PDB or FB2 versions of this book?
I would like to read it with FBReader. Anyone created .pdb or .fb2 versions of this book? If not, maybe I will find time to do that some day... Guaka 20:45, 25 August 2006 (PDT http://www.usome.com)
Using this wiki
The basic idea is to make this Wiki a place for at least five things:

# Collaborate on writing a summary of the ideas and claims of the book (see Table of Contents)
# Collaborate on writing commentaries and elaborating and refining the presentation
# Provide an easy platform through which to access underlying research materials:
#* those used in the book's notes
#* and resources that are useful for further research, refinement, and updating
# Describe, link to, and analyze examples of the phenomena the book describes
#* The purpose is not to “make the case” for the book or find “gotcha” counter examples. What we are trying to do is provide a real research tool, annotated bibliography, and platform for collaborative learning. Examples and counter-examples should be selected and described with that purpose in mind.
# Demonstrate and discover what is valuable in a learning platform
#* Through separate pages devoted to ideas and experiments of what can be done with an online book to make it a learning platform, we hope to expand the range of uses to which this Wiki can be available.
#* Through creative, systematic and interactive uses of this wiki, we hope to enhance our individual and collective skills & experience in a wiki world
