I am Imre Simon a (retired) Professor of Computer Science at the University of São Paulo.
I am a great admirer of Yochai Benkler's work and would like to understand better the aspects and mechanisms of Social Production. I have a particular interest in the concepts of nonrival commons, the evolution of information and the Open Access movement to the Scientific Literature.
From its inception in 2003 until July of 2007 I coordinated a project of incentivating and facilitating the Cooperative Construction of Open Contents at the Virtual Incubator of Digital Contents.
I also teach a discipline in Portuguese, since 1999, which tries to analyse the Social Impacts of the Internet: Informação, Comunicação e a Sociedade do Conhecimento.
In 2007 I am coordinating, with Gilson Schwartz and Sérgio Amadeu da Silveira, a series of seven debates based on Yochai's book (in Portuguese) at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of São Paulo. The debates are webcast and later archived on the web. The series is documented at Ciclo Temático sobre a Riqueza das Redes.
I also have lots of other interests in Theoretical Computer Science but I guess that "that's another story" from the WoN perspective.
