Cora Shaw

Ms. Shaw is an economist for the World Bank in Washington, D.C. Her areas of expertise include land policy and administration (land markets, land tenure, land taxes, market-assisted land reform, integrated land registry and cadastre systems, land information systems, institutional issues) as well as demand-driven Community Development Funds: legislation, regulation, systems and procedures for community investments, rural job creation and environmental protection of protected areas. She is the Leader of the Bank-wide Land Policy and Administration Thematic Group and task team leader for the Central America Land program. She has graduate degrees from the Institut Universitaire d'Etudes de Developpement and University of Geneva, Switzerland, and from George Washington University in Washington, DC. An Argentine national, Ms. Shaw has worked on all countries of Central America (including Panama), as well as in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Mexico, Peru, and Senegal, Mali, Tunisia, and India.
