9:45 – 11:00 Mapping out possible strategies

Build on and expand Ethan’s list to create comprehensive list of possible strategies, brainstorm examples and challenges of as many as possible:

  • Supply side – new reporting techniques, new authors, new sources, translation/re-packaging
  • Demand side – specialized outlets, new distribution structures, changing mindset within existing media structures, mechanisms for stimulating/demonstrating demand from public
  • Funding – examples of for-profit, non-profit, other alternatives
