It seems to me that it's testimony to the difficulty of getting voluntary standards and mechanisms
to be widely enough adopted so as to be effective, when those standards are not to the
advantage of all constituencies.  Apple's action with Safari is just the trailing edge of the larger 
unwillingness of the "web industry" and its failure to do more than pay lip service to DNT.
