[projectvrm] VRM use cases collaborative survey

Hey everyone,

The PIMS European workshop that took place in Paris on April 26 (report) came up with the idea of building an open and collaborative repository of VRM/PIMS use cases. My organization, Fing (France), is running the survey on behalf of all participants, as a collaborative endeavor.
We hope this list's members will also contribute to it, as well as benefit from it.

How

The submissions will be made public soon, probably via a simple table (CC-By license)

The analyses that we will produce based on this repository will also be accessible in the same way (CC-By), and we hope others will do the same.

What/Who

We define "use cases" in the broadest possible sense, as applications, services and/or uses that make sense to actual end users.

We are interested in tested and proven use cases, as well as experimental or in-development ones, or even in ideas and scenarios; We'd just like you to tell us which stage you're at.

Please do not hesitate to contribute with use cases that you know of, even if you're not involved as developer or user.

Why
Such a repository could be immensely useful to:

• trigger new projects and/or partnerships,
• facilitate research,
  
• prove the value of empowering customers - Imagine the power of being able to tell 150-200 "real life" stories, in plain English (or whatever other language), of how VRM/PIMS/Self Data can benefit people - each story being backed by an actual implementation and/or experimentation!
  (and, yes, we have a collective issue with terminology...)
  

We believe this survey is a somewhat different (and complementary) exercise than the "VRM Development Work" page that Doc and others have been maintaining, since it deals with applications and uses, not organizations. Actually, the ProjectVRM wiki could also be the place to host the survey's results?
