Subject: [projectvrm] Call for participation: Blockstack Summit 2015 -
September 12 @ NYU

Blockstack (http://blockstack.org) is a community of developers coming
together to work on common infrastructure for decentralized applications.
We've discussed before on this list how the blockchain and similar
decentralized technology can be used to promote user autonomy and give users
control of their digital identity and personal data - Blockstack is where
that rubber meets the road. If you're in or plan on being around the NYC area
on September 12th, this is an event you will not want to miss. The full CFP
is shared below.

Best regards,

September 12, 2015
D'Agostino Hall
New York University
108 W 3rd St
New York, NY

You are invited to participate in Blockstack Summit 2015, hosted by NYU
Professor Dr. Lakshmi Subramanian at New York University in New York City on
September 12, 2015. This is the first community event of Blockstack, a
community whose mission is to create a common infrastructure stack for
decentralized application development. This event will bring together
researchers and developers from industry, academia, and open source projects
to discuss topics such as:

Distributed hash tables
Blockchain scalability
Decentralized identity
Secure messaging
Smart contracts
Decentralized storage
Peer-to-peer reputation
Electronic voting
Blockstack governance
Peer-to-peer markets
Autonomous organizations

Event Overview

The first half of the day will be dedicated to five-minute Lightning Talks.
You can see the list of Lightning Talks that have been scheduled at
http://blockstack.org/summit.

The second half of the day will be spent in three workshop sessions with five
tracks each, for a total of fifteen workshop discussions. The workshop agenda
will be determined by attendees using an “unconference”
methodology the day of the event. Attendees will first propose topics during
an agenda planning session, and then vote on which topics they wish to
discuss. The top fifteen topics will be the ones which get discussed.

To close out the day, Blockstack Summit 2015 will host a Q&A panel moderated
by Princeton Professor Dr. JP Singh and featuring Albert Wenger of Union
Square Ventures, Jalak Jobanputra of Future/Perfect Ventures, Naval Ravikant
of AngelList, and William Mougayar of Startup Management.
