Hi, this is my first comment in this community so let me introduce 
myself briefly - my name is Zbynek Loebl and I am founder of Youstice 
(www.youstice.com). I like the idea of the icons because it is simple 
and it should convey the information easily. It is also a clear progress 
from the current state of play. I also agree that now they seem complex 
but this is only a technical issue - for example there can be just one 
icon which the users will know will contain the necessary info after 
clicking or we can limit the number of icons... but the idea is a very 
good one.
