I had a look at the Respect Network website, and in particular, at the list of commercial partners. Why are there so few 'commercial partners' for the Network. And what exactly do the three that are there - Neustar, Swisscom and NEX - actually provide to members? The Network doesn't feature on any of their websites (try searching on 'respect network' if you don't believe me).  It strikes me that the Network will remain an interesting sideshow until it reaches a critical mass of commercial partners that make it worthwhile for normal customers to sign up to the Network. That the Network charges USD 25 to become a member suggest that it hasn't been specifically designed with the start-up economics of multi-sided markets in mind. Hagiu wuld probably agree http://sloanreview.mit.edu/article/strategic-decisions-for-multisided-platforms/.

Having built the Respect Network, I wonder if a million members will actually come. Do you know how many are there currently and what the expected growth curve look like?

Sadly, I won't be thinking of joining until there are significantly more commercial partners enrolled that account for a significant proportion of my weekly spending, and even when there are, I will still be asking the $64,000 question... What's in it for me?

Best regards from Cologne, Graham

I too want to thank everyone who came to the event. Part 2, our Immersion Day, is today.

Nathan, good point about the main home page -- extensive contact info is on our info site at http://info.respectnetwork.com/. But we need to integrate a contact link on the home page.

Doc,

Thanks for heads up on RN new site. On a quick pass RN’s site looks great and communicates compelling reasons why folks should sign up. But at the end, perhaps an oversight.

Notable by its absence is *contact info*. It’s omission doesn’t communicate willingness to converse, so isn’t aligned with trust. Including multiple ways to communicate – email, snail mail, Twitter, and especially phone number –  sends a subtle but very effective signal that you’re ready and waiting for a two-way conversation. Even more, that message should be prominent on top left besides its usual location at bottom.

I was also surprised there was not nothing about the world tour on the home page.
