Thanks Mary,

Yes, I think that this addition also brings a very focused project to the table that we can get behind - the consent receipt. I think that has the potential to become a real win for both individual and organisations.

From the individual perspective, ‘if I give you my consent for something (i.e. tick your box), i’d like a receipt for that’ just makes sense.

From the organisational perspective, keeping track of who has given consent for what, and managing that consent over time is a really difficult and costly challenge.

Cheers

Iain

Hi All,

I wanted to share a quick announcement, which is relevant for those interested Notice and Consent, privacy policies as they are now and what will happen in the future as people make requests about what happens to data they share, etc.

The Kantara Working Group, Information Sharing Working Group, has added the word, Consent, to the front of our name.

https://kantarainitiative.org/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=67633589

This may seem like a minor change, but it establishes our missing to include Notice and Consent, which is a changing issue in various jurisdictions,
and complicated as entities like California, or the EU, make more requirements about how Notice and Consents happen, and begin requiring
Consent Receipts.

The Open Notice ad-hoc group, working under CISWG is attempting to work through the various issues with Notice and Consent and Receipts in preparation for these
new requirements.

The goal is to have open source, interoperable standards, schemas and code.

AND we will shortly announce a Legal Hackathon in the Bay Area, NYC and London, which will work toward these goals.

Stay tuned, and let us know if you want to help or participate !
