Yes, thanks VERY much to everyone who supported this.

And if you didn’t, there’s still 20 hours to go. Free data for KS backers. That deal won’t last. :)

Hurray!!!!

Thanks to everyone out there that joined the cause - here's to the future!!!

Onward!

Not to be an antiGrinch, but I threw in $35 and we've not had a car for a decade, and no plans for one.

Phil;

I'll do the 1$ if it's not too late.

A PIA is for privacy what a TRA (Threat/Risk Assessment) is for security. It's a way of assessing risks to privacy in a proposed or existing system, process, or program.

Thanks John,

Can I suggest you pledge just $1 so that we can have you on our list for updates. We expect that we’ll have support for Canada and other countries. We’re hoping for Q2, but much of that depends on our VPN provider. Working through that now.

On the issue of a PIA, I don’t know what that is. We have announced that we subscribe to the tenets of the Respect Trust Framework. Fill me in please.

Phil;

I considered pledging until I saw the U.S. only caveat :-(

As a point of interest, have you done or are you planning a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) of the system. Seems to me that this would be a useful assurance of Privacy by Design (understanding you can’t take ownership of the rest of the ecosystem you’ll connect with).

I just put up a blog article on how my truck turns on my office lights and heater when I pull into the parking lot.

The article isn't as explicit about this as it might be, but this is all possible because it's based on personal clouds. My truck, light, and heater are all connected rather than being in silos.

BLATANT COMMERCIAL MESSAGE HERE: If you're a supporter of personal clouds and you haven't backed our Kickstarter project, why haven't you? This is my best idea around how to make personal clouds real and relevant to most people. The car is interesting enough that you can get people to buy into it without having to have a lot of complicated interactions. But once they have it, getting other personal cloud applications installed is easy cause they've already got a personal cloud. Get on the bandwagon and go put your money where your mouth is! :)
