I was spurred on by the following review in the Economist to read Dave Egger's new novel, 'The Circle'. It tells the story of a dystopian future society where post Google, Facebook and Amazon corporation 'the Circle' controls all information and 'Secrets are Lies' and 'Privacy is Theft'. It is '1984' in the hands of a ruthless info-corporation.


I suspect it will have many of you both nodding your heads in recognition and shaking them in horror, like I did. I can thoroughly recommend it.

Apparently it has got Silicon Valley types a bit worried too.
