I should add that I like Geoff a lot, and I'm surprised to see something this
tin-eared coming from him.

Perhaps it's because he's not talking to ordinary folks, or to developers
working to disrupt the system from the customers' side. (That's us.) He's
talking to website operators and the vast consultariat selling services to
those operators. I mean... check out the amen corner commenting below the
post. Pretty homogeneous group.
