VROOMERS,

Bill Lee (no, not the former Red Sox player) offers interesting observations in the Harvard Business Review: blog Marketing is Dead.

Perhaps even more interesting are the comments following the blog post.

New marketing is alive.  New ways to be interactive, to listen, to synthesize marketing data, and best of all, new ways to acquire such data make for interesting opportunities.  In some cases this can be response to or analysis of intent.  In other cases it  may be analysis of gathered data, but data given on an opt-in or permission based basis.  The blend of both may open many paths of opportunity for marketers.
