Hi VRMers... I'm writing to ask for your help....there is an important election next week! And I'd like you to sign up to vote for me and other community members. Right now they are forming the private sector lead organization to we... "lead"... next week August 15-16 is a meeting in Chicago...for the steering committee...they have put a process in place... it is what it is... Anyone can join the steering committee and anyone can run for the Management Council of the steering committee...When you join you have to pick one of 14 categories...anyone and any organization can self select into any category! I was asked to run and have decided to really go for it. My campaign site is Kaliya for Mayor*! *Consumer (and Citizen) Advocate Delegate for the Management Council of the Steering Committee for the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace I decided to go for this category Consumer Advocacy and stick with nonprofit roots..and go with being the representative for Planetwork in the NSTIC process - you can check out the ASN paper written almost 10 years ago http://asn.planetwork.net Jay Unger is running in the Startup Category PDEC will likely join as an organization in the Interoperability Category Bob Blakley is running for Plenary Chair. If you want to dive deep into NSTIC stuff you can find lots of it on the NSTIC site http://www.nist.gov/nstic the community website about NSTIC http://www.nstic.us AND then the Secretariat Site who is running the meeting next week - http://idecosystem.org I'm not sure this list wants to or should dive into a deep conversation about NSTIC...I'm happy to answer questions if I can. I have a bunch of links at the top of my blog http://www.identitywoman.net to posts I have written explaining NSTIC and wrote a kind of epic 60 page response to the government's inquiry to how it should be governed last summer. That is in effect my platform - http://www.identitywoman.net/nstic-response-by-identity-woman Thanks, - Kaliya |
