Apologies.

Yesterday my laptop crashed hard. The only backup I have with me on this trip
is from May. After recovering as much as I could, my mail app picked up where
it left off, which seems to have been at multiple moments in the past. I
suppose this post (dated today in the header but clearly from 2013) was in a
past instantiation of the outbox or something.

Meanwhile, the most basic lesson applies: back up everything you can as often
as you can, wherever you can. Not easy in cases where providers make it as
unclear as possible whether something is in the cloud or in a directory on
your device at hand, or where the hell it is in that device.

All hail grep for finding stuff other utilities can’t.
