Lots have been written on this list (and in Doc's book) about Intention economy, especially compared to Attention economy.
So, when I got the following paper (from O'Reilly mailing list), I couldn't resist to forward it here.
The main point is that: whatever sellers do on the internet, Attention is stable (both between and within websites) over time, and only change from one household to another. This stability makes the competition for Attention worthless and costly.
Might be an other argument to turn sellers into focusing on Intention...
