I was originally going to post a question to the list to help me find a
bloomberg story I heard a couple months ago about Amazon using it's
overlordship of the third party marketplace sales data to identify
successful products and then knock them off.
But I found it:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-04-20/got-a-hot-seller-on-amazon-prepare-for-e-tailer-to-make-one-too
I'm thinking about it today because I just received the following from a
broker email list I'm on:
"Amazon Businesses For Sale: What’s Driving The Growth Of This Trend?"
https://www.quietlightbrokerage.com/buying-tips/amazon-businesses-sale
Nowhere in the list of reasons for why people are trying to exit their
Amazon businesses is it posited that it's because "Amazon is knocking
off my successful products".
I think that's gotta be a driver and it's pretty typical of this drive
toward consolidation and centralization which VRM is working against.
