It's time to start standardizing privacy policies, registering the service providers that adopt them, and encouraging audit by highlighting the providers that both adopt a standard privacy policy and have an independent audit.
The policies and registrars can be domain-specific. We need to standardize and trademark an open version of Apple's HealthKit policy, for a start. I'm working to figure out how to get Patient Privacy Rights to play this role with a combination of vendor support and public donations.
All ideas would be welcome.
