I think they are calculating a "score" for everybody. (I'm guessing. If not
directly, a score could be derived really easily, and that's one of the few
ways I can think of making the data deluge actionable.)

As in "Doc Searls, let's see, he is X on a score of 0 to 100"

The German media has been creating parallels with something called the
"Rasterfahndung" for criminal investigations, which was a huge political
topic when I was a teenager in Germany. The basic idea of "Rasterfahndung"
("grid investigation") if memory serves was to start with the entire
population, and by slicing and dicing with a computer and the facts as known,
to narrow down the list of suspects. This is exactly that, on a global level.

So given Doc's score, he's clearly a subversive, and a leader among them
(he's an editor at Linux Journal, for heaven's sake), should we let him board
any more planes?
