Hello, everyone,

A few hours of tinkering, researching, testing, tweaking, and we now believe that Doc's email problem is due to a false positive spam report (or a subsequent blacklisting) on his email filter at the Berkman server.

Through other routes (the web being ever so circuitous) Doc is now receiving all the messages.

In checking the Berkman listserv we discovered some other troubling anomalies, such as seeing an abnormal number of bounced emails,  Making this even more peculiar was how many of the bounce reports were from regular contributors. Adding to the madness was seeing a bounce report, then looking at my own incoming mail to check the list and to see that one or two reportedly bounced addresses were at the same moment responding to very recent messages.

This is among the reasons we believe the root of Doc's mail problem is at the Berkman mail server.  List messages show us false positives on email addresses from which mail is indeed being received (and responded to, too).

Doc & I will pursue this further.  But here's how you can help.  Please see if list messages are arriving in clumps on your email client.  Please also respond to this message (on the list) when you see it.  I will send direct emails to some of the apparent false positive bounce reports asking if they see any oddities in their list email,

And please report any list oddities you may be seeing or experiencing, so when we escalate this to the Berkman Server Geeks Patrol, we let them know of any and all peculiarities or failures in our midst.

Thanks!
