Microsoft's Google-Bashing TV Campaign Is Actually Working

http://adage.com/article/digital/microsoft-s-google-bashing-tv-campaign-working/244691/

"The Scroogled ads, negative to the core, are a
rarity for consumer tech."

And what do you accuse a company of, if you really
want to "go negative" and provoke a response?
Targeted advertising, that's what. Regular people
are just creeped out by it.

Adtech is as if we were having a tulip bubble, but
with beets or something.

(Why hasn't MSFT released a tricked-out "MSIE
Privacy Edition", to foil creepy tracking by Google
and others? Because they probably realize that it
would make web ads more signalful and more valuable,
and therefore help Google more than anyone.)
