In a nutshell: Fahemah talked for the first half of the webinar about privacy policies (how they are not very good), the cost of security data breaches, and the importance of companies moving in the direction of more customer control of their own data. She went into some detail about how companies can do better while admitting that it is a complex endeavor. Her best practices are Sephora, Pandora and Dell because they allow customers to opt-in with granular preferences (not dualistic opt-in/opt-out options). She had a slide about what I would call VRM (personal data lockers like personal, Mydex, Lifedash, etc.). But since the sponsor of the call caters to corporate clients, she didn't go into as much detail as I would have liked. Later, both of them answered a question at the end about Data Lockers. I would definitely listen to that part of the webinar because there seems to be some hesitation from both the speakers about whether the public will adopt data lockers and the challenges in how to present that value proposition in a way that's not too complicated but gives them granular control over their own data. Hope that helps. I think she may have mentioned connect.me as one of the players, but I'm not 100% certain. Let me know if you want the recording of the webinar. It should come within 24 hours, according to the moderator. - N On Mar 14, 2013, at 1:26 PM, Drummond Reed wrote:
