Erol

Interesting concept but I have a few issues with it.

1. Why impose a physical limitation on a virtual space?

2. It sounds like curated content, but will the shopper believe each seller can offer her something differentiated?

Take electronics for example, many online retailers offer exactly the same products with slight differences in price or shipping. In some countries they are just front ends to the same fulfillment warehouse database. Why wouldn't a shopper just go to a price comparison engine to find the best price instead of relying on two or three preselected retailers?

Overall this model sounds quaint, like a personalised department store. But a "store" or "market" with floors is a physical limitation that has little meaning in online stores.

Now if you focused on areas where sellers can differentiate on the basis of taste/fashion or limited availability (eg. like Etsy or eBay), then it might make sense. But IMO you'd be limiting consumers' options, and there would be no guarantee they wouldn't just go to Google if they don't like what they are offered through your exchange. Oh, and online most people are cheapskates, so if they have an opportunity to buy something even slightly cheaper, then loyalty often goes out the window (unless there are other benefits like loyalty points, reduced shipping, etc).

Hope this feedback helps you work out the kinks in your model.

Hello,

I would like to share an ebusiness model with you and get feedback.

Think about an user or company has an private virtual trading exchange (VPTX) that has multiple floors, each floor can be occupied by companies in only one industry segment. User won't go outside but only in his VPTX for shopping.
He does research himself or got referral for a company in one segment, say grocery. He then will invite a grocery company to lease a place in floor of his VPTX. Probably, user will invite more companies for one segment for competition. When he needs shopping, he will enter his list of items and VPTX will come back the best price and service for each item. User will pick which company gives best price and then submit order. As you can imagine, user does not need to search anything because companies  will be responsible to update their floor with most recent products all the time. Sometime, he got referral from his friends for a company and got link. Once he click link, that company will automatically be leased in his VPTX.

In this model, user won't see any advisement,  no product searching in internet to find something. All he does is to enter his request that would be fulfilled by companies in his VPTX.

Do you thin this  model will work?
