User talk:HARVEYHONEY From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Chesley Sullenberger, III : a 57-year-old former Air Force fighter pilot and a 29-year veteran of US Airways, is commended for his expertise in aviation safety and judgment. US Airways Flight 1549, an Airbus A320, hit a fleet of geese and caused engine damage. Moreover, flight speed and performance were interrupted. Sullenberger is an outstanding, remarkable, and observant pilot who exercises creative emergency resolution. After landing the defected aircraft in the Hudson River, NY he was still adamant to secure his passenger's lives. An unknown passenger opened the aircraft door after the emergency landing on the water and caused the aircraft to begin sinking. Nonetheless, Sullenberger was adamant to continue saving lives as water began to tank the aircraft. Despite the selfish act of an anxious and fearful passenger, thinking only of himself to exit and endangering others, Sullenberger mainatined professionalism and character and delivered 150 passengers and 5 crew members to safety. Again, Sullenberger is a phenomenal hero and aviation icon.
President Barack Obama congratulated Sullenberger by conducting a PERSONAL phone call placed at 6:45PM EST on January 16, 2009 for five minutes. The breif conversation was relaxd and impressive as President Obama spoke of how pleased he is of Sullenberger. Also, Sullenberger and the US Air flight crew were honored guests at the Presidential Inauguration.HARVEYHONEY (talk) 19:31, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
