One Year Passed!

It was last year this time that I started my blog. Before that I had gradually become addicted to reading blogs and before discovering blogs, I used to only chat online!

It was in 2002 that I first became familiar with the internet; when I had to go online to see the results of the university entrance exam (Konkour). After becoming almost addicted to chatting and then realizing how chatting contains many lies and dishonesty made me quit the Internet altogether.

Later on, I became familiar with something called “weblog”. Back then the number of blogs was limited and also only a specific sector of the society had blogs. There was really no blog on Quoranic matters, religion, prayers and religious-political blogs. Through reading these blogs I realized how strongly many of these blogs had linked to each other. It was to the point that as a reader you would feel confined in one sector of bloggers and a similar kind of writing. I would not even dare to comment or maybe I did not have the desire to do so. A few times I wanted to start my own blog, but I controlled myself against it. I used to only read and learn and write for myself. I used to think that if I had spent all the time that I would put for reading random people’s blogs for studying, I would have been better off now. But looking back, I think reading blogs taught me many things that reading a hundred books would not have taught me.

Finally, I started my own blog in Persian blog. At first, I used to be so scared that my thoughts and opinions would cause me trouble. But shortly I realized other than the visitors who come to my blog in order to advertise for themselves, I practically had no readers. I used to hate the first page of Persian blog that would announce a bunch of nonsense blogs as their most popular ones. So, I switched to Blogfa. I still would continue to read a lot and write and sort of censor myself in writing. Back then, blog was a bad thing. It was implicitly illegal to even bring up the name “weblog” on TV! Like now that showing musical instruments is not allowed on TV, but then they air all sort of awful music all the time. They had also arrested a few bloggers which is why I was even more cautious because politics is cruel and also I was worried for my student status.

I got tired of censoring myself. I stopped writing for a while and then I started again. This time I decided that no matter what I will write what goes on in my thoughts and my heart. It was last year this time!
