The assignment:

  • Please find and edit an entry on Wikipedia relating to a topic for which you have some level of expertise. The edits should be more than cosmetic and should actually enhance the substance of the article. See Wikipedia: Introduction for more information.
  • Add an explanation of your edits to your chosen article's talk page. This need not be longer than a sentence or two.
  • Following your edits, add to this page a link to the article you edited along with a brief explanation of your changes and the username you used on Wikipedia.
  • Edits are due by class on Thursday morning.
  • Before class on Thursday, check your edits and see whether anything has happened to them. Report any changes on this page.
  • If you need a place to start, considering looking for stubs (short articles that need to be expanded).

I suspect this won't be taken lightly by some people since this is a controversial subject back home. --Hiram
  • I recently updated the the entry on my high school, KLHT, to detail which athletic conferences the school is a member of and to list a couple notable former athletes who I played football with in my days there. BWiegand 20:18, 11 March 2008 (EDT)
  • I laid down some law over at the page on antitrust tying arrangements, adding a new section detailing the relevant factors and correcting/developing the discussion of the Microsoft case, inter alia. --KHickey 20:34, 11 March 2008 (EDT)
  • I adjusted a vague line about two streets near my apartment (Clinton Street and Orchard Street) in the Lower East Side neighborhood post. -Shawn
  • I tweaked the description of Joint Implementation projects under the Kyoto Protocol, basically re-writing the whole thing since it was very basic and didn't really have cites. --Edithpb 21:57, 11 March 2008 (EDT)
  • I corrected/added information to the entry on Cable 13, the student-run TV station at Duke... and got immediately reverted. It liked me better the second time. --Lexi
  • Edited entry on Emergency Medical Technician - Basic by adding substantive content including clarifying the legal constraints on the scope of practice for EMT-Bs; also restructured the article by adding and moving sections and subsections, and corrected a number of typos and spelling errors. I also tried to bring the section headers and more of the text into compliance with the Wikipedia Manual of Style (MoS). See detailed list of my edits here, which I submitted anonymously with the name "Michael" in quotes because I don't want to create an account. --Michael Schakow 07:57, 12 March 2008 (EDT)
