Summer 2018 Internships for Law students

Important Additional Information and Application Instructions

If you've reached this page, you are a current law student interested in applying for a summer internship with the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. If you have not yet read the main page about Berkman Klein summer internships, find it here.

If you are a student from any discipline except for law, please find information relevant to you here.

Some law schools offer funding for students who obtain public interest internships. We ask law students applying for summer internships at the Berkman Klein Center to also apply for summer public interest funding from their law school.

Harvard Law School students can find information about Harvard's program here; students from other schools should consult their home institution's financial office for information about public interest funding opportunities.

We invite all law students to apply for a Berkman Klein summer internship whether or not summer public interest funding has been received.

Project Selection

In our application system, we will ask you to identify the top two opportunities for which you would like to be considered. During the course of our review and interview process, we may identify a role in which you might excel but did not select in your application - if this is the case, we will discuss potential plans with you.

We will have a number of exciting positions available this summer for law students, and the various opportunities provide different ways by which interns will practice and engage legal studies. Due to the nature of the work we expect to address this summer, some of the opportunities we list on the main summer internship page will not have law students working primarily with them; law students will get exposure to these projects and will have the chance to work with them in conjunction with their primary responsibilities.
