In part, this depends on how strongly we feel about open networks and how highly we value pure information. It also depends on how much effort we are willing to expend to create, document, and share information – although with the vast options and ease of communication tools available, we are simply being lazy and complacent if we choose to do nothing. Perhaps it’s our duty and our right as citizens to receive unadulterated information and learn about topics from all conceivable perspectives. Further, some might say that doing so is the only way to enable individual freedom and autonomy, to make society truly democratic, and to promote idealistic goals of truth and justice.
